Audio-Technica Record Player Needles

Most Audio-Technica record players use one of two needle systems. The AT-LP60 and AT-LP60X ranges, the AT-SB727 Sound Burger and the AT-LPGO-BT carry the AT3600L cartridge, and its replacement needle is the ATN3600LC, which replaced the older ATN3600L.

The newer hi-fi models, such as the AT-LP70X, AT-LP3XBT, AT-LP5X, AT-LP120XUSB and the AT-LPW range, use VM95 series cartridges. All VM95 needles fit the same cartridge body, so you can move from the conical AT-VMN95C to an elliptical or finer tip without changing the cartridge.

Look closely at the model name before you buy. The AT-LP120-USB takes the ATN95E, while the newer AT-LP120XUSB takes the AT-VMN95E. In the same way the AT-LP5 takes the ATN95EX and the AT-LP5X takes the AT-VMN95E.
